We are a non-profit organization, economic or religious, with the mission to promote the psychic, social and emotional well-being of children and youth, where we perform social work in various areas.

We work to provide better quality of life and decent conditions for needy children and families through social inclusion and support in various areas such as health, education, food, family integration and well-being.

We provide community care and assistance which leads us to dream of an even better future, projecting it with great seriousness and love. Our focus is to provide responsible and excellent assistance, enabling children and assisted families to socially reintroduce themselves, with access to information, food, health, education, work and income so that they can effectively be members of a fairer and more egalitarian society.

My name is Horst Benzing.

Ernesto Cossa, who was commissioned by Jesus in 2016 to build a house for the street children of Maputo, is my spiritual son. We met in 2011 during my first IRIS visit to Mozambique. Since then, he has been to my home several times and is now part of our family. He is now also married to a German woman. In 2016, we collected the necessary money here in Germany to purchase a suitable plot of land on the outskirts of Maputo, where the new home for Maputo’s street children is to be built. The same was done a year later to construct the first of three buildings.

It was then clear that a non-profit organization needed to be founded in order to proceed. In Africa, the mills grind a little slower anyway, and the coronavirus pandemic delayed obtaining non-profit status until 2023.

After that, it felt like an eternity before the domain of this website was moved to Germany, because it is important to us that we always publish the current status of the charity project through this medium, which was not possible when maintaining the website in Africa.

As things stand today, we still need around 70,000 to 80,000 euros/dollars for the complete implementation of the project

With these words I appeal to your big heart of charity. Please be generous donors and support this project of love for the poorest of the poor to the best of your ability. Almighty God will reward you richly. We will be happy to issue everyone with a donation receipt. However, as the “House of Hope” organization is based in Mozambique, these donations can unfortunately only be deducted in this country. Nevertheless, we all hope for your support.
